through development projects. PIID provides for-profit businesses with non-traditional market exposure for their products through healthcare and economic development projects. The focus of PIID's teaching efforts is on health and medical education.
NIS Role PIID provides training in health and medical education
to pediatric hospitals in the region and serves as health advisors to various clinics. Through food aid grants from USDA, PIID distributes nutritional supplements to partner hospitals.

Gen Purp ICDUP promotes exchanges of arts/culture through the
medium of participatory sacred dance as begun in 1967 by Samuel L. Lewis: The dances of Universal Peace.
NIS Role Since 1988, ICDUP has actively pursued contacts with
religious, spiritual, dance, and cultural networks and organizations in CEE/NIS. It has established and trained a network of Dances of Universal Peace
teachers based in Poland, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, and Czech Republic.

Gen Purp Project HOPE teaches modern techniques in all areas of
health sciences education, provides medical humanitarian assistance on a selective basis and provides technical assistance in the development of health care facilities.
NIS Role Project HOPE provides health care and related education
programs to the medical community. These initiatives are developed with the intent to train individuals in a medical skill, which can then be expanded. Also, a Joint Initiative Humanitarian Assistance program has been providing urgently needed pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to the states of the former Soviet Union.
