"THE EVOLUTION OF PHILANTHROPIC ASSISTANCE FROM CRISIS IN RUSSIA, TO SELF-HELP "BOOT-STRAP" ECONOMIC ACTIVITY

I believe that ultimately crisis management through philanthropic aid must evolve in sustainable self-help. That implies that commercial and industrial for profit organizations in the CIS must increase their GDP through economic development, so that social and health services can be supported by industry. The dissolution of the USSR has resulted in the severance of connections between commercial activity and civic and social services in Russia. Mechanisms have to be created to reestablish a link between GDP and the cost of social and medical services

I encourage health NGO's to network with the commercial sector in Russia and make available their communications (e-mail and internet) to commercial organizations and act as liaison between commercial firms to develop exports, investment, currency exchange and other for profit activities so that a portion of the profits earned from resulting collaboration with commercial transactions can donated to the NPO's to support their budgets.
