Know With Whom You Are
Doing Business |
There is no such thing as a free website.
Instead you are volunteering to act as a target potential customer for other vendors and to receive
their SPAM, email and telemarketing calls to sell TO you instead of buying FROM you.
Was that what you thought you were being offered? Hardly. You have been mislead and taken advantage of.
THERE ARE NO FREE WEBSITES - YOU'RE REGISTERING TO BE A CUSTOMER- WHEN YOU REGISTER YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS SOLD TO SPAMMERS.
People create a website for the purpose of marketing to an audience. A free website ignores that objective, providing
instead a place to which others can market to you as well as to anyone YOU attract to the URL address provided to you.
That address reads: Their-site-name.com/yourwebpage
Instead of becoming the advertiser, looking for customers and inviting search engines to bring them to you,
you become the audience for the advertising of others.
When you pay for a website you can reach an audience through the creation of keyword metatags that are recognized
by search engines and forwarded to a global audience seeking a supplier by means of these keywords. The
website attracts an audience of potential customers for YOUR products or services.
A Free website does not provide any such audience magnet. No opportunity is provided to install "keyword" HTML
metatags, and no search engines are notified of the existence of the site and the site has no domain name of
its own and is known only as their-domain-name.com/yourwebpage. rather than yourdomainname.com
"Spiders" and "Robots", software programs, roaming the WWW on behalf of search engines, to find new
websites, are unlikely to discover your existence without metatags.
www.their-domain-name.com sells advertising to those who want to reach an audience thereby converting your website
from a seller to a source of potential buyers. It amounts to subjecting yourself, and everyone whom to whom you give
your website URL address, to a barrage of SPAM email in the form of banners. To refer to this as a "free website" is
the equivalent of telling someone, who is advertising to sell their car, to park it on their dealer car lot, when the real
intention is to sell them and anyone else who comes to look at it, one of their cars, not yours.
I think you deserve to be aware of this when a "free website" offer is extended to register you as a potential
customer.
Ever wonder why people give away those "Free websites"? Now you know. People "selling" free websites earn profits
from the sale of advertising on your website, that provides other businesses, perhaps even your competitors, with
access to new potential customers....That new potential customer is anyone who accepts a "Free
Website", or visits one.. You also give others access to your existing customers. The URL on your business
card becomes an advertisement by the owners of your "Free-website" to reach those with whom you have developed
good will. Your customers trust that you would not send them somewhere they should not go. You have no control
over what the banners they read will tell them ,or where those banners will send them. Can you afford this free ride?
Is it really free?
Welcome to the latest form of Telemarketing....volunteering for it. Welcome to sharing your customer list with
whomever has something to sell. Welcome to misrepresentation.
Proceed with caution.
